Message but not too nice thats going to make your car a prime target for theft. Like, I assume you are the type of person that doesn't really care about having subs or something. I like my setup (look in profile). Basically, head unit, speakers and an amp. Relatively easy install, you could do it all in a day. If you have electrical knowledge, its pretty easy, if not, still easy. Tools and parts are inexpensive, also. If you feel adventurous, I'd make my own speaker adapters to fit at least 6 1/2" all the way around (rears don't really matter much, verts only have a 2 speaker system, and everyone says that they can't hear the rears anyway). I have em all the way around. But anyway, 2 things you could do, buy the non-bose rear panels off a 90, they bolt right onto the stock panel. You could make one out of masonite really cheap too. Speakers usually come with instructions too on how to make the panels (like dimensions). Wiring is pretty simple, battery power to unit, ignition power to unit, RCA outputs to amp from unit, battery power to amp (thick guage, a good stereo shop should help you out, get gold plated connections and an inline fuse). Ground amp, ground head unit, run speaker wires from amp to speakers. I used the tray in the back for my amp. I also had a box made to look stock and fit over the amp so you can't see it. Before you know it, you have a sleeper sound system that sounds pretty good without the weight of subs and loss of space. I recomend Alpine amps, I love mine. Its small, light and puts out 340watts (obviously less when split into a 4 channel amp). And from there, you can adjust the trebble and bass from the amp pretty easily. I did my car for under $500. I also got a cheap JVC unit, but its great. $140 and had mp3 capabilities 2 1/2 years ago. speakers were $80 for each pair, but you could get better. The amp was over $200 by itself. Last, but most importantly for me, amp cover for $100, custom made with a plexiglass view area for show, cover for go. I don't have pics now, but its great quality. Its not even bolted down and doesn't move ever.
My advice, take what you want from it, sorry for the long post.

Funny thing is my girlfriend says I'm too fast. Go figure ~jonnyz (DC)
